It’s almost picnic time!
2008 Storm picnic > August 30th!
Since Interlocken’s East Park is reserved for us from 10-2:00 PM, please let me know if you can be there. Also, Demelza has offered to handle the “food” part of this, finally, fun day for all of us. Remember, families/friends are welcome as this is a people only occasion. Please leave our four pawed companions at home – let’s make this a day for us for a change.below is from Demelza, who took a break from sewing fancy victorian dog costumes for Charlsten.![]()
Here’s the responses so far, please send me what you want to bring and I’ll add it to the list so we are all covered. If anyone has a ‘special dish’ or something, let’s add it! I’m going to talk to Jeromy (my husband) and Ben (Melissa’s husband) about running the charcoal grill, any other folks that want too as well – let me know what tool’s you can bring (wire brushes to clean it, spatula’s etc) so we can make sure we are covered.

* as for myself (Kevin) and Renee, I am not sure if we will be there. Usually, we travel that weekend. Of course, in the summer, we usually travel every weekend. We are working on knowing soon if we are in town. if we are, we will definitely be there. In addition, i would be more than happy to work the grill for everyone. Sorry for the waffling, but since it takes $100 to fill my tank… we are sadly limiting our road trips this summer.____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________June 21st
10 am to 4 pm. Live auction begins at 1 pm. Go to here, and then click on ‘celebrating 20 years’ for the poster. All proceeds will help build a momument to honor CBI agents, their dogs, and the work they do. Some of the fun includes:
Fire Trucks Joyce the Animal Communicator Police Dogs Service Dogs Guest Vets Mini seminars Rescue group with adoptees Pat Stogner with Cleo and other hounds*(* This is our official designation. However, I had promised Rufus his name would be all over the flyer. It’s ok, he can’t read. So, if he asks this weekend, tell him his name is up top! Also, I told him that picture on the flyer is him. In fact, I told him that every word on the flyer simply says ‘Rufus’ over and over and that the event is a celebration of him. Now that we have a new kitten in the house, he is feeling less important in the pack. These little self esteem boosts are good for him.)

June 14th
First up we have the 3rd Annual Bark in the Park.
* 06.10.2008 update:
The dog parade (that we are in) starts at 9 am this Saturday. We are going to meet/stage at our booth at 8:30 am. Pat says we have a booth and signage and a tent and everything, so that we will be easy to find. So, please get there early so we can gather up and hit the parade together.
Directions:
Parade will begin at 9 am at the corner of Wells and Briggs. This is just off of ‘Coal Creek Park’ in Erie. For those of you in the Southland, this is North of the E470 exit on I-25. It looks like you will want to take exit 232 Dacono/Erie off the 25.

Come join us for the 3rd Annual Bark in the Park and World’s Shortest Pet Parade on Saturday, June 14! Click the image for more information.
June 21st
No fancy graphics here (yet). but here is the scoop from Pat:
June 21st is Willow Run’s (Broomfield) annual Tribute to Service Dogs and this year, there will be an auction at 1:00 PM plus a raffle to raise money for a memorial to Colorado’s Arson Dogs. I received a list of who will be there and it’s long this year. Furthermore, SARDOC will be there. I don’t know whether to have an evil grin right now or wring my hands. We are committed and will have our table, banner and canopy there this year. The time is 9:00 to 4:00 but we do not have to be there all day or can go in shifts. I have the flyer to show you. My friend from CBI will be there (arson dog handler) with his new dog and this guy is someone worth meeting. He’s a big believer in our hounds, after working with Travis on arsons.
Let me know if you can or cannot attend either event. Dogs should be socialized with dogs, kids, and people of all ages, especially at Bark In The Park. Thanks!!

Barker Days at O’Brien Park – Parker, CO
I don’t have many details on this, and will have to talk it over with Pat. However, it is being held in my beloved Parker. Heck, by then we’ll all be pros at all this, eh?
My phone number is 303-771-4043 if you get lost. You will probably hear Gracie before you get to the house.
Hope to see you all Sat at 10:00 am
